Job Title: Pediatric ECMO Specialist
Job Summary: Join a highly skilled and specialized team dedicated to providing life-saving interventions for pediatric patients. As a Pediatric ECMO Specialist, you will operate extracorporeal life support (ECLS) systems to assist critically ill children during emergent situations. Our Pediatric ECMO Program, established in 1992, is one of the oldest in Texas and has supported over 500 patients. Recognized as a Designated Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) since 2006, our program continues to set standards in exceptional care, treating approximately 30 children annually.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective patient care based on nursing competencies and the specific needs of pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement optimal patient care strategies.
- Make critical clinical decisions to support positive patient outcomes using evidence-based practices.
- Coordinate treatment plans, including discharge and transfer processes.
- Participate in continuous evaluation and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and Texas Board of Nursing guidelines.
- Maintain high-quality service and optimize the patient experience.
- Support professional growth through ongoing education, mentorship, and departmental initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Current Texas RN license or compact license for professional nursing practice.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); additional certifications may be required based on unit needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- RN I: Less than 1 year of experience
- RN II: 1–3 years of experience
- RN III: 3–10 years of experience
- RN IV: 10+ years of experience
